She began perfecting her designs, which consisted mostly of limited edition pieces made out of acrylic. This style, as revealed by Von Furstenberg, is a nod to the `70s era—a period wherein acrylic was considered by many as the material of the future. Von Furstenberg followed the lead of innovative designers like Charles Hollis Jones, who was one of the first designers to use acrylic for modern furniture. Today, Von Furstenberg has created her own style in making inspired furniture and accessories. Her beautiful collection can be seen on her official website.
